Graduation Approaches

By Rebecca Noeske

As the weather becomes warmer, days become longer, and senioritis begins to take its toll, it is no secret that graduation is nearer than ever for the Class of 2013. The much anticipated date is less than two months away, and the end of a four year run at Central is coming to a close for seniors.

“Three years ago I was watching my sister graduate,” said senior Colleen Bianco. “I never thought my turn would come so soon.”

The commencement ceremony is scheduled to be held Sunday, June 2, at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7 pm, but seniors are required to arrive no later than 6 pm.

Tickets will not be sold at the door, and while each senior will receive two complimentary tickets, additional tickets must be purchased ahead of time for $5.

Diplomas will be distributed immediately following the ceremony. All seniors should note that they will not be able to receive their diplomas if they have any unpaid fees or unreturned books.

“I can’t believe how close we are to graduating!” said senior Yeheon Shin. “It’s pretty exciting.”

Other upcoming events for seniors include senior honors night on May 13, prom on May 23, and the senior luncheon followed by senior celebration on May 31.
