Women’s golfs eventful season

Women’s golf has had a pretty eventful season this year. Their overall record was 7-7, but they were 4-1 in the Kensington Lakes Athletic Association’s (KLAA) North Division which put them in second place overall among WL Northern, WL Western, Waterford Kettering, Waterford Mott and Lakeland High School.

Individually, many golfers played a significant role in the team’s success. “Outstanding people. I would say this year senior Lexie O’Dette, junior Olivia Orr, and junior Eunice Choi were our most consistent players, but the whole team had a great year,” said coach and teacher Ryan Johnston.

The team came in fourth place out of 15 in the Oakland County tournament. The team expects to have a good season next year because they have eight returning juniors that will then be seniors. Johnston thinks that the program is going in the right direction and he believes they will only get better. Junior Amanda Sooch said, “We’ve had a great year in golf and I hope to have a great one next year.”
