Varsity Football looks for more effort next season

By Kennedy Werner

Finishing the season 2-7, Central’s varsity football sums up their season with three words: brothers for life. Although it was a rough season, the team’s top moments were surely the team dinners, intense workouts, and football retreat.

“All of us seniors feel that big gap in all of our lives now knowing that we are done playing,” said senior defensive end and tackle Marko Beslach, “It will be hard to get past.”

With about half the squad departing as seniors, the team still remains as one.

“We’ll all keep in touch,” said Beslach, “We have to; we’re brothers.”

Looking back into the season, some of the team’s favorite game highlights were junior safety and quarterback Drake Temple’s interception at the Homecoming Game against Hartland; junior quarterback Nick Krumm’s endless touchdown streak against Waterford Mott; and junior halfback Parker Krupic’s 48-yard catch at Ford Field.

“Those are just a few but all together, being on WLC Football has been the greatest experience overall,” said senior offensive lineman Nick Adamowski.

As for next year, the team is ready to work on technique, build the seniors, and learn reads and assignments.

“The team looks strong coming into next year,” said future senior quarterback Krumm, “We have a lot of returning players who will be seniors next year, everyone should be healthy, and we have a good sophomore class that will contribute a lot as juniors.”

What’s next for the 2013 Varsity squad?

December 8 is the team’s banquet from 11AM to 4PM at the Lyon Oaks Golf Course in Wixom.

“We look forward to reuniting as a team one last time in December,” said Temple.
