Every day, walking down the hallways, if you just happen to listen as you walk past others, chances are you will hear someone talking about someone else. It’s practically an epidemic.
Senior diver Amanda Ling became Oakland County’s Swim and Dive champion for the third year in a row earning first place in the annual competition and setting a new pool record, beating the old one by 20 points with a total score just two points off her personal record.
Since 1937, the second Monday of October has been set aside for Columbus Day. It is a national holiday, banners are sold, elementary school kids have a special activity for it, the post office takes a day off, and all that good holiday stuff. But should Columbus actually be the cause for all this celebration?
