Red Cross Club begins new year

The Red Cross club, sponsored by science teacher Sandra Gresh and overseen by student president junior Ramiya Ginjupalli, is fairly new to Central and in its second year.

The club has 30 active members, as of right now,  who participate in helping others. “The Red Cross Club focuses on international objective disasters and people in need,” said Ginjupalli.

Most recently, the group organized a blood drive on Friday, October 21. Members of the club volunteered to help out with stations at the event. “The blood drive was a great success,” said Junior Isabella Dalou.

The club puts together activities such as the blood drive and organizes volunteers to help those in need. The Red Cross club also does work at hospitals and the Red Cross Center as well. “I’m really excited for this club and to see how we can help people this year,” said junior club member Shaelyn Goodwin.

The Red Cross Club meets every two weeks. The next meeting will be after the first marking period in Gresh’s room.
