Senior diver Amanda Ling became Oakland County’s Swim and Dive champion for the third year in a row earning first place in the annual competition and setting a new pool record, beating the old one by 20 points with a total score just two points off her personal record.

When we think of summer, we think of happiness, fun and freedom, but on July 21, we were impacted with the loss of a life, that of senior Sean Collins. Playing a huge role in choir, drama and sports, Sean was a mischievously funny guy who never ceased to make those around him smile, always with a smile on his own face.
Walled Lake Central students are used to “outs” for football and basketball games. Students can rock anything from a crazy Tropical Out to a simple Pink Out and still make the student section look amazing. On Friday, September 23, a different out, one that WLC had never seen before, took place in the student section: a Yellow Out.
The puck is about to be dropped on a season of change for Walled Lake Central Hockey. The first major change that has already began to take effect is the coaching staff. Science teacher and baseball coach Ken LaCross will be taking over for Coach Gary Quitiquit who has retired. Along with LaCross will be two assistant coaches who are in the process of being finalized. The two prospects for assistant are a WLC alumnus and a WLN alumnus who played in high school and after.
