When we think of summer, we think of happiness, fun and freedom, but on July 21, we were impacted with the loss of a life, that of senior Sean Collins.  Playing a huge role in choir, drama and sports, Sean was a mischievously funny guy who never ceased to make those around him smile, always with a smile on his own face.

Lost in a tragic accident, Sean was gone way too soon. Several events have been in remembrance along with selling of wristbands and tshirts with the phrase “Let it Be”, taken from “Let it Be by the Beatles”, one of Sean’s favorite songs.

All organized by students with administration support, senior Amy Al-Abawi has been at the forefront of organizing the shirts, bracelets and other rememberance of our friend. “Everything I have done is for him,” said Al-Abawi.

In honor of Sean, the football team had a blue out at their away game versus Kettering High School on Friday, September 30. At the game, cheerleaders debuted their new cheer, ‘Let it Be, SPC’. “I really like it,”said senior Alissa Yenglin. “I helped come up with it,”

It was a great game and a wonderful event, despite the loss of 6-20. The chance to remember a great friend with the release of the blue balloons was a night to remember.
