Select sophomores and juniors congregated in WLC’s auditorium for a special presentation during SRT
on Friday, April 26. An academic award ceremony was held for students with an admirable 3.5 and above
GPA for sophomores and a 3.35 and above GPA for juniors.
At the ceremony, first time honor roll students were awarded with an academic varsity letter. Whereas,
returning honor roll students received an academic pin, adding onto their varsity jacket collection.
Students and their families had gotten a letter in the mail earlier this month informing them of this event.
“Congratulations! You have achieved the distinction of being on the Honor Roll at Walled Lake Central
High School for the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year,” said the letter.
Parents were encouraged to attend the award ceremony, as parental interest helps foster student
success. Many ended up coming to support as they watched Central’s principal, Chuck Morgan, shake
hands with their son or daughter.
The event was held because Central takes great pride in their students who excel in their academic
studies. The school is always eager to praise them on their achievements.
