Young Republican club to start

Politics seem to be on the forefront of everyone’s minds these days, and for Sophomore Eric Siegrist, it is no different. Siegrist has started a new club here at Walled Lake Central, The Young Republicans. and aims to ready students for taking political action within the community through a wide variety of politically based events.

Lauren Wasiak commits to Lawrence Tech

After a lot of consideration, senior Lauren Wasiak committed to play soccer at Lawrence Technological University in mid-October. She decided on Lawrence Tech because it offers her the best of both worlds: a school that is close to home and that allows her to do what she loves.

Arkansas passes new law on abori

America is one of the few countries to legalize abortion and allow women to choose what to do with a pregnancy. This right, first guaranteed 41 years ago by the Supreme Court’s decision in the landmark Roe v. Wade case, however, has been a source of cultural and political tension for many decades now. This human right is being questioned now more than ever which is making women fear that this right can be taken away from them at any moment.

Last thing to make you cry

Everyone cries once in awhile. It’s a helpful mechanism to get your feelings out. There are tears of joy, sadness, and even anger. The staff at The Call went out and asked students and staff of Central about the last time they cried.

Varsity b-ball defeats WLN

The varsity men’s basketball team played an amazing game at Walled Lake Northern on Friday, February 10. The game finished with a close score of 52-50, giving the Central boys another win. The boys are fighting very hard as their season end rapidly approaches.

Students participate in Planned Parenthood march

On February 11, Planned Parenthood held a march in their location in Ann Arbor. My friends and I decided to join the march that included strong and resilient women fighting for their rights and men fighting for the rights of their mothers, daughters, and sisters. Hundreds of people attended this protest and even some pro-lifers who respectably stayed on their side of the sidewalk in front of Planet Fitness.
