Dance likes nobody’s watching
As Spirit Week drew to a close, Walled Lake Central held two assemblies to get the students excited about Homecoming weekend. On Thursday, October 6th, the Field Day assembly was held where the class dances performed.

The Walled Lake Central women’s volleyball team continued their undefeated season when they claimed the title of KLAA Division champs on October 6.
Once again, the stage will be graced with the voices of the vocal music department’s choirs at the Fall Concert at 7 pm on October 26 in the WLC Auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door and online. For the first time, this year’s concert will not be Halloween themed, but will feature songs from “Around the World” instead.
School’s back and so is open gym.
Walled Lake Central’s drama students are preparing to raise the lights for the upcoming fall play, Radium Girls. The production is set to take place December 1-3 at 7pm. Tickets will be sold a few weeks before the performances. They can be bought at the door, at the ticket booth during the week before the performances, and online.
When we think of summer, we think of happiness, fun and freedom, but on July 21, we were impacted with the loss of a life, that of senior Sean Collins. Playing a huge role in choir, drama and sports, Sean was a mischievously funny guy who never ceased to make those around him smile, always with a smile on his own face.
On September 28th, 2016, Hurricane Matthew formed near the Windward Islands. It left a path of destruction as it passed the Caribbean, then moved to the Southeast United States.
Seniors Elena Harroun, Miriam Tolston, and Brendan Whitworth are among 125 of the nation’s top band members to be selected by by the National Association of Music Education for inclusion in the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. These seniors were honored during a special ceremony on September 25 in the auditorium, attended by family and friends.
On Saturday, September 24, 20 students from Garbsen, Germany arrived to Michigan to stay with WLC host families for two weeks.
Walled Lake Central students are used to “outs” for football and basketball games. Students can rock anything from a crazy Tropical Out to a simple Pink Out and still make the student section look amazing. On Friday, September 23, a different out, one that WLC had never seen before, took place in the student section: a Yellow Out.
