NHS to hold annual blood drive

By Simone Stephens

The National Honors Society (NHS) will sponsor its annual blood drive on October 25, in the Auxiliary gym. The Red Cross will be here during school to draw blood donations to give to the blood bank.

If you are interested in giving blood, you have to be at least 17 years old or be 16 years of age with parent consent and can sign up at every lunch up until the day of the drive.

“People giving blood should eat red meat and protein, and drink lots and lots of water,” said Senior Kendall Gargiola, who is a part of NHS and helps out with the blood drive. “Raisins are also a great thing to eat before giving blood,” added Garagiola.

Giving blood to the blood bank is a great thing to do and it gives back to the community.
