Superbowl occur this weekend

This year, Super Bowl 51 will be very special for both teams considering the fact that it will be Tom Brady’s seventh time being there, which he has a chance to be the first quarterback to win 5 Super Bowls, and the Atlanta Falcons have a chance to win their very 1st Super Bowl . Have you ever seen Patriots go up against Falcons? We will see on February 5, 2017.

Women’s Basketball takes on Waterford Mott

The Women’s JV Basketball team had a game at Waterford Mott High School on Tuesday, January 31. The girls played a hard game and came out on top with a score of 16- 12. The girls are slowly reaching the end of their season and are working very hard to prolong it as much as they can.

WLC leaving KLAA

The Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) will be losing 10 of its 24 members next school year, including Walled Lake Central. Other schools that have decided to leave the KLAA are Walled Lake Western, Walled Lake Northern, Waterford Mott, Waterford Kettering, Milford, South Lyon, South Lyon East, Lakeland and Pinckney.

Men’s Bball update

Walled Lake Central men’s varsity basketball team has been quite busy since the holiday season. The team has had five games since Christmas and moved their record to 7-3.

Weir commits to Calvin college

Senior Kyle Weir has recently committed to Calvin College to play baseball. Weir verbally committed on December 27, 2016 and is scheduled to start to start team workouts with the program in February. Official team practices are set to start this August and lead into the start of Weir’s freshman year.

Henig commits to Jackson College

Baseball is one of the hardest sports to get a scholarship in. People think that college coaches only look for a pitcher who can throw at least 90 mph or can hit the ball over the fence every at bat to, but coaches also look for players who exhibit good character, leadership, and a good work ethic.
