Members of Walled Lake Central’s Wind Ensemble traveled to DeVos Hall in Grand Rapids on Thursday January 20 to perform at the Michigan Music Conference. This is an event where only the best ensembles in Michigan come together to perform in front of prestigious musicians.

Last Friday, January, 20 was not just another game for Walled Lake Central and Walled Lake Northern aside from the team’s’ huge rivalry, it was also the program’s annual Pink Out game.
Elementary students have opportunity to get introduction to instruments
Walled Lake School Districts’ elementary level kids came to Central on January 19, so the performing arts could put on a short concert for them in order to introduce them to new instruments and show them what different instruments sound like as well as how they all sound together as a group.
Little Mermaid coming to Central
It is that time of year again, the school musical is rapidly approaching. This year’s musical will be Disney’s The Little Mermaid, which has sparked the interest of many students. Performances will take place March 17-19 and the performing arts department has kicked into high gear as the begin to prepare for the fantastic show this year,
Winter formal coming to Walled Lake
Once again, Walled Lake Central is holding a winter formal but with some major changes. For the first time, all three Walled Lake high schools combined will host the event only for the upperclassmen on February 25 from 7pm-10pm at Suburban Showplace in Novi.
Nestle calls for more water
Recently Nestle Waters applied for a permit that allows them to pump more water from one of their wells in Michigan, potentially impacting the Great Lakes.
WLC leaving KLAA
The Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) will be losing 10 of its 24 members next school year, including Walled Lake Central. Other schools that have decided to leave the KLAA are Walled Lake Western, Walled Lake Northern, Waterford Mott, Waterford Kettering, Milford, South Lyon, South Lyon East, Lakeland and Pinckney.
Top 10 movies of 2016
2016 has come to a close and it is safe to say that this has been, .as far as movies go, pretty disappointing. Many of the most notable films that people were looking forward to this year, i.e Batman V. Superman and Girl on a Train, didn’t end up being the great films that we had hoped they would be.
