It is that time of year again, the school musical is rapidly approaching. This year’s musical will be Disney’s The Little Mermaid, which has sparked the interest of many students. Performances will take place March 17-19 and the performing arts department has kicked into high gear as the begin to prepare for the fantastic show this year,
Sophomore Isabel Lundin will be taking on the role of one of the mer-sisters in the show. Lundin said, “I am really looking forward this year’s show! I am so excited to get back on stage and be apart of such a fun event!” Lundin also spoke about how this is the first year that one of the high schools in the district will be putting on such a well known Disney production. The performing arts department is hoping and counting on a larger crowd for this show than those in the past and are working very hard to put out an amazing show for everyone.
The cast and crew has started practicing and building sets after school throughout the week along with learning their lines, musical numbers and dance routines. The department is very excited and are spending tireless hours working together to put on an amazing show. Junior Julia Mandilk is a member of the casts ensemble and said, “We are working really hard and practicing to make sure that we have a nice sound that carries on throughout the whole show.”
