Sweet sounds, entertainment, gourmet food, and proceeds all benefitting WLC Bands. Band Director
David Rogers hosted an Italian dinner and Jazz Band Concert from 6:30pm until 9pm in Walled Lake
Central’s cafeteria Saturday, May 4. The band, consisting of ninth through twelfth graders, played a 40-
minute set beginning at 7pm.
“It’s a fun night for all,” said Rogers. “Thanks to [everyone] for their time and support. [The night] gave the
kids a nice event to perform at.”
Tickets were purchased in advanced for $8 or at the door for $10. Once there, dinner included mostaccioli
(meat sauce or vegetarian), salad, breadsticks, a beverage, and dessert.
Jazz Band students work hard year round in a performance based classroom environment specific for
instrumental musicians. They study and perform many genres of music including jazz, pop, Latin, and
rock music deprived from all around the world.
