After a valiant effort, WLC’s varsity football team succumbed to the Livonia Stevenson Spartans last Friday night, September 6. The final score was 34 to 12.
Scoring a quick touchdown in the first quarter, the Vikings were off to a good start. Slowly they lost momentum as the Spartans wore them down.
Nick Adamowski, senior lineman, said, “There were mental errors, mistakes on our part. We beat ourselves in a game we could have easily won but we’re back at it this week, working hard to get ready for Thursday.”
Marko Beslach, senior defensive lineman, stated, “It didn’t go the way we wanted, we let up too many big plays and could not capitalize on our offensive opportunities. The team will stay together and work twice as hard to get the win versus Kettering on Thursday.”
The Vikings, now 0-2, will fight even harder at their next game, Thursday, September 12.
“Go to our game this Thursday. That student section better be rowdy for our first home game,” said Beslach.
