Senior girls win Powderpuff success

By Kayla Womack

The seniors did it again, beating the juniors 32 to 30 in Walled Lake Central’s 2013 Powder Puff football game. This event took place on Central’s football field, October 21. The game was intense as the senior girls fought their way to success.

“The juniors were playing a little rough, but our team worked together to hold them off.” Senior Simone stated. “Overall, it was a hard out game, but we all had fun.”

Three senior girls helped contribute to the big win. Senior Simone Stephens scoring a passing touchdown received from team quarter back Deja Whitener. Senior Shelby Bishop also scoring a touchdown, and senior Jasmine Brown scoring four touchdowns throughout the whole game.

“I did suffer some hard hits from the junior girls, but I didn’t let that stop me from scoring those touchdowns. A team victory was on my mind the whole time while playing,” Brown stated.

To hype the game up even more, the guy cheerleaders showed their spirit to get the crowd rowdy. “I think my favorite part of the game was watching the guys cheerlead. Finally they can see that cheerleading isn’t as easy as it looks,” former Central cheerleader senior Kambria Thomas said.

Every year at Central, the senior girls remain undefeated against the juniors.
