It was a bittersweet moment for all of Michigan last Wednesday when Farmington Hills’ own Jena Irene Asciutto was not crowned Season 13’s American Idol. Despite the massive support she had gotten throughout the entire season, she did not receive enough votes to make her number one.
Even though she did not win the entire competition, like many previous runner-up contestants, she will be very successful. Rumors have been spread that Randy Jackson promised to help her out with her career no matter the outcome.
This Thursday, Jena and American Idol winner Caleb Johnson will fly to Michigan attend North Farmington’s prom. What started off as a joke on the show turned into a reality that the two superstars are extremely excited for.
Asciutto is also walking in her graduation ceremony at Compuware Arena on June 8.
Even though she did not come out on top, she is and always will be Michigan’s American Idol.
