The Interact Club is sending their help overseas!
Walled Lake Central’s Interact Club has decided to host a Packing Party on February 23 where club members and volunteers will make care packages to ship to the military overseas. The Packing Party will be held in the WLC media center from 6pm to 8pm.
Senior and President of the Interact Club Harshi Talluri stated the reason for choosing this fundraiser is because “American troops put their lives on the line to protect us, and we [Interact Club)] wanted to help out however they could.”
The Interact Club is looking for help in providing items for the party. They are asking for donations of drink mixes, protein, condiments, snacks, toiletries, and entertainment items. Or they are asking for monetary donations in the form of a pledge sheet.
On top of the Packing Party, the Interact Club also has teamed up with Coldstone (Novi). Every person who brings the Interact flyer between February 6 and February 20, Coldstone will donate ten percent of your order to pay for the shipping of the care packages.
Junior and Public Relations officer Manisha Soli said her favorite part of the event is being able to provide care packages to the people who dedicate their lives to protect our country everyday and sophomore and Vice President Kyle Biel said his favorite part is knowing “what we put in these boxes will directly influence somebody’s life thousands of miles away.”
