The Chaldean American Student Association (CASA) took a trip on March 8 to the Commerce Fire Department.
They gathered all of their members to join them, including their sponsor, Spanish teacher Nancy Kattoula. The students met at Walled Lake Central after school and some carpooled there together. “It was a really fun time with my friends,” said Junior Ashley Azzo. Charles Morgan, WLC principal joined them too.
This was set up by Kattoula contacting the school’s police liaison to plan a date for them to visit. When they arrived there they met the firefighters who gave them a tour of the station. The firefighters even let the club take some pictures on the fire trucks!“We gave thanks to the Oakland sheriff and firefighters for their service by bringing them Mediterranean food,” Vice president of CASA, Junior Miranda Kajy, said.
“CASA is a really fun club to be apart of and I’m excited for more little trips like this,” said junior Sandra Belilovsky.
