March Madness, one of the more exciting times of the year when it comes to basketball, is fast approaching. Major teams are being noticed during this time such as Kansas Jayhawks, UCLA Bruins, Villanova Wildcats, Gonzaga Bulldogs, and North Carolina Tar Heels.
Immigration is a heavily debated topic in today’s political scene, and as we move further into Donald Trump’s presidency we are beginning to see some of his policies on the matter take action locally. Recently, the Department of Homeland Security released Trump’s plan for depletion which involved deporting 11 million illegal immigrants that came to America during Barack Obama’s presidency. However, one of the main points of the address was that the deportation plan was going to focus on immigrants who committed major crimes, which partially contradicts what we are seeing here in Michigan and across the country.
As the snow begins to melt, spring sports teams start to form and begin their preparation for the 2017 spring season. Tryouts for all spring sports, start Monday March 13 and many athletes are excited to kick off their seasons. The spring sports include baseball, softball, women’s tennis, women’s and men’s track, men’s golf, women’s and men’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, and women’s water polo.
Through ten years of schooling, one topic that was covered in those ten years was American History. So, now I can be sure that I know it all, right?

Graffiti in school bathrooms tends toward the negative at best and the obscene at worst; yet at Walled Lake Central, girls are seeing more and more positives quotes and sayings on the stall doors in the school bathrooms.
May’s AP exams will be here sooner than anyone realizes and the deadline for registration is Friday, March 3.
