Senior Corbin Pontius, the only person from Central eligible for the second part of the Michigan Math prize competition coming up on November 29, learned of this honor on November 8.
Out of the 10,000 participants who took part one, 1,000 students are qualified to take part two.
“Ten students took the test, they all did a great job,” said Mary Leinweber.
On March 2, the top 100 scorers are invited to an awards ceremony and receive an award. About $20,000 in scholarships will be handed out this year, ranging from $250 dollars to $2,500 dollars.
