New to Central this year is HOSA, or the Health Occupation Students of America, which is for students interested in pursuing a career in health science. Every other Tuesday, the club meets in Laura Jennings’ room in C110 at 2:30.

The club was established by juniors Harshitha Talluri and Manisha Solipuram] and they keep the meetings short. “We usually have informational meetings over what topics we want to cover and finances,” co-founder Talluri stated.

“We do take part in competitions and they do range by different interests. We have [competitions] for artistic people, debates, standardized tests, and demonstrations,” she added.

Most of the discussion topics cover new ideas for field trips and other activities that the club can take part in. With 25 people in attendance, the club has gone to Michigan State University to take part in labs, as well as listening to health professors speak.

We have [competitions] for artistic people, debates, standardized tests, and demonstrations,” Talluri added.

The club has no club fee to join, only requiring payments for field trips, which Talluri said usually range from $15 to $25.
