If you have nothing to do after school and would like to be active and meet new people, consider joining French Club. You’ll be surrounded by a bunch of friendly students.
Club sponsor and French teacher Barbie Green said she’s “excited about French Club this year. They have lots of great things planned. The kids all seem great. Our club president, Ramya Ginjupalli, is so motivated and organized that she will really help make our events outstanding.”
French Club kicked off their first meeting of the year Thursday, September 2 with Green. They discussed upcoming events for the month of October as well as collected the $3 dues that must be payed to join the club.
At the second meeting, elections were held for secretary, store managers, and co- treasurers. The executive board members are freshmen Amber Baker as secretary, Max Knight and senior Victoria Teodoro as the store managers, seniors Hector Ramirez and Vini for co-treasurers, along with junior Ramya as president and freshman Geethikia Bodnapu as Vice President.
On October 20, French Club had their annual pumpkin carving contest after school in the cafeteria. It didn’t cost anything to participate; you just had to be prepared to get messy. If you and/or your group were to win, you would receive a $5 gift certificate for the French Club store. It was a great way to have fun with others in a language that you love. The winners of this contest were three freshmen boys.
They also took a joint Cedar Point trip coming up with the Spanish and German clubs on October 28. They left the school around 3:00 and the cost was $58 plus the $3 if you hadn’t paid the fee to join.
