Senior Amanda Britain committed to Mount St Mary’s University, a D1 school in  Maryland, to play soccer.

Britain has been playing soccer since she was five years old, but just recently decided to take the next step and commit to playing in college. “I chose Mount St. Mary’s not only because of soccer but because of its academics and great atmosphere and because it gives me a chance to explore a different part of the country,” said Britain.

Britain, who plays midfield, is a member of both the Walled Lake Central varsity team and the Michigan Jaguars travel team. This will be her third year on varsity and this year she will be one of the varsity captains. The Mount St Mary’s coach said he is confident that she will be a great addition to the soccer team.
Britain’s hard work over the years has been paid off and has gotten her to where she is now. Though Britain is still undecided with what she will be studying in the fall, she is “ very excited to be a Mountaineer”
