Popsocket Trend

By: Kaylin K

Popsockets,  a cell phone accessory that lays flat until it is “pops” up to act as a grip, stand, or even just a toy to fidget with, is the newest craze among young adults.

The Popsockets company offers various designs to compliment any personality or style, yet if an even more personalized look is desired, a custom Popsocket can be created online; as was done by seniors Alexia Nissu and Katelin Shunia.

The two are close friends and decided it would be comical to display pictures of one another on their Popsockets. “It started as a joke, but now I like that my Popsocket is different than anyone else’s,” said Shounia. “Everyone who sees them thinks they’re funny,” said Nissu.

Senior Alexa Aqwa said,“Popsockets will fade soon because no one actually uses them most of the time.”

How long the trend will last is unsure, yet these seniors say this is a memory they’ll always look back on fondly.
