Senioritis is in full effect and it’s only January. Walled Lake Central’s seniors are definitely feeling the senioritis kicking in with second semester starting in just a few weeks.
Senioritis is defined as “a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance.” Whether or not we would like to admit it, we seniors are feeling the heat of senior year with midterms, scholarships, and so many other college preps.
“I can for sure say that i’m feeling like a second semester senior, lately every morning i’ve had to practically peel myself out of my bed, “ said senior Maria Slaybach.
“Senioritis is real. I can say I’ve experienced it first hand, especially lately with the start of second semester. I’m so excited for college i’m just trying to get through this last semester,” spilled senior Lily Eagleton. The excitement for college is the hardest urge to ignore during our last semester in high school.
Some of the greatest memories we have our during our high school journey. “High school is and has definitely been a wild ride. At times it’s been super hard but overall I wouldn’t trade the friends or experiences I’ve made here for anything, and I think that’s what the high school experience is all about,” said senior Jenna Moss.
Senioritis may be real, but soon this will all come to an end and we will be saying goodbye to the kids we’ve known all of our life, realizing that this amazing journey is coming to an end. Though this adventure is coming to a close, we all have an amazing life ahead of us with all the opportunities in the world.
